This is another subject that continually stimulates my interest. I found the old cow skull while hunting morel mushrooms in the spring of ‘76. I brought it home and hung it on the wall of the wood shed. Over the years, it bleached out whiter and whiter. A robin built a nest on the top. After she left, a wren came and built her nest inside the eye socket. The obvious parallel is drawn concerning life and death, beginning and ending. No doubt I’ll paint it again in the future. |
