It snowed heavily the night before, but by noon the next day a warming trend had started and Mosquito Creek was flowing pretty well. Just to the right of center is a very tall pine tree flanked by the remains of another that had succumbed to a storm some years ago. They cling to the fragile creek bank tenaciously, reminding me of an old couple, weathering the storms of life together, side by side.

I chose this particular angle so the two trunks would he partially aligned to make one upward thrust, rather than having them separated. In my view, I thought the snag would bring to much attention if it stood alone because of its abrupt ending. What I was seeking was a quiet restful mood while remaining faithful to the location.
